As a result of a wire connection overheating in the air fryers, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled about 2 million Cosori air fryers. According to the company, more than 200 users have reported that the appliances caught fire. In North America, Canada, and Mexico, Cosori is recalling more than 2 million air fryers due to overheating wire connections.

About 2 million air fryers were recalled because of fire hazardsThe recall was announced Thursday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Consumers should stop using these air fryers immediately, according to the agency. There are multiple models involved in the recall, including those that are 3.7-quart and 5.8-quart. There is a Cosori brand name on the front of all of the units. Between June 2018 and December 2022, air fryers were sold at Best Buy, Target, and Home Depot stores and online at Amazon, Walmart, and other retailers. The price ranges from $70 to $130.

To receive a free replacement air fryer or another product, consumers should contact Cosori. It is required that consumers provide their contact information and a photo of the recalled unit. There is no need for receipts. Cosori is owned by Vesync, a company based in Shenzen, China. 205 reports of air fryers catching fire, burning, melting, overheating, or smoking have been received by the company. Ten minor burns have been reported, and 23 minor property damages have been reported, according to the agency.
